# Sequencer

## Overview

The **Sequencer** is the heart of the network. The sequence is managed by the Hang Foundation and secured by **Sentinel Nodes**. We use [**Conduit Elector**](https://conduit.xyz/blog/announcing-conduit-elector) for a secure, high-uptime sequencer compatible across the Super Chain. As we continue to build out cross-chain compatibility, we will also leverage the power of the [**Espresso**](https://www.espressosys.com/) shared sequencer.
