## Background

The Brand Protocol is the culmination of years of experience serving millions of customers via onchain loyalty programs. The Protocol includes new [**primitives**](https://protocol.hang.com/the-protocol/primitives) tailored for brand loyalty programs, including tokenized assets, brand credits, and user status. The Protocol also makes it easy for brands to spin up [**marketplaces**](https://protocol.hang.com/the-protocol/primitives/permissioned-marketplace) with custom dynamics and access permission.

The[ **Brand Oracle**](https://protocol.hang.com/the-protocol/brand-oracle) connects directly with brand POS and ecommerce systems to bring real world data on chain.
