# Overview

The mission of the **Hang Foundation** is to develop the world’s premier ecosystem for brands and their communities. The Hang Foundation maintains the [**Brand Protocol**](/the-protocol/overview.md), develops the software that powers the [**Brand Portal**](/the-portal/overview.md), and supports our community of brands, customers, and developers. 

The Hang Foundation is a Cayman-registered foundation that operates independently of **Hang Corp**. The Hang Foundation provides paid services to various clients, including Hang Corp.
